A taxi from Banjul Airport to Kololi, Kotu or the Senegambia area costs £15 per car with us, about D1,500, including meet and greet. The going airport-taxi rate is about £9–14, so a pre-booked transfer costs a little more for a fixed price, flight tracking and a driver waiting for you.
What should visitors pay for an airport taxi?
Our advertised airport fares are per car, not per person. Kololi, Kotu and Fajara are £15 one way; Bakau and Cape Point are £17; Sanyang and Kartong are £25. A people carrier for up to seven passengers costs £8 more one way. You can pay in pounds, euros or dalasi cash when you arrive.
What is the difference between green and yellow taxis?
Green taxis are tourist taxis. They work from hotels and the airport and charge set rates. Yellow taxis with a green stripe are town taxis, shared with local people, cheaper and on fixed routes. They can suit confident travellers, but they are not the easy choice for an airport run with luggage.
How do we avoid a price argument?
Agree the fare before you get in, or book a fixed fare in advance. At the airport, you will be tired and there will be several drivers looking for work. Booking means you know the price before you fly, see your name in arrivals and have a WhatsApp contact during your stay.
Local tip from our drivers
For a short trip around the coast, say where you are going and agree the total price before the car moves. For a longer day with several stops, hire a private driver so you are not negotiating each leg separately.
